**Safety is the responsibility of every employee and encompasses all aspects of our work.** Whether you are in the office or the field, using Institute equipment or driving a state vehicle, in everything you do, you are expected to conduct your efforts safely. To assist in your efforts, the Institute’s employee safety manual is available above. The safety manual consists of several separate documents and contains information regarding safe vehicle and equipment use, accident procedures, and working in various settings (e.g., remote areas, cave/Karst/underground, water, lab and specimen work) among other items. 

_Although all possible safety procedures are impossible to list, employees are expected to follow a common sense approach to safety._ _It is your responsibility to access the safety manual and to know, understand and follow safety procedures associated with your work activities._
